If I were still a kid this ad would really make me pick up a book. I remember really loving and getting involved in the characters in my book. I cried when Beth died in Little Women, Colin Craven and his tantrums really pissed me off, and well, I was always gunning for Nancy Drew. I was always so emotionally invested in the characters in books. If any of them were hooked up to an IV like this, I’d bawl my eyes out.
I mean even the predictions that the printed word is going extinct (books, newspapers) and the news about Amazon selling more Kindle books than paperback or hardcovers makes me all paranoid and depressed. *sigh*
Guys, let’s get kids reading again. An uninspired, unimaginative future is just downright depressing and not in the least bit acceptable.
